Music Culture Legend Sav Remzi Joins Armour Home as Culture Ambassador

What do David Bowie, Björk, Massive Attack, Goldie, Jarvis Cocker, Andrew Weatherall, Banksy, Gilles Peterson, Groove Armada, David Guetta, Calvin Harris, Grace Jones, Neneh Cherry, David Byrne and Madonna all have in common?

At one point or another, they’ve all been part of Sav Remzi’s world.

Now the man who helped shape Shoreditch before it became the creative mecca that it is today, who built the UK’s first hi-fi listening bar before most people knew what a ‘listening bar’ was, has launched several record labels, iconic music festivals, clubs, and instigated enough cultural moments to fill several lifetimes, is joining Armour Home Electronics as its new Culture Ambassador.

It’s a move that cements Armour Home’s intent to move beyond traditional hi-fi and into music culture.

The company behind high-performance audio brands, Goldring, QED and Q Acoustics is on a mission to bring its brands to the forefront of music culture, strengthening relationships with artists and creators, and building new connections between great sound and the creative forces that shape our culture.

For more than three decades Sav has operated at the intersection of music, art and community.

As founder of the legendary Blue Note Club in Shoreditch, Sav helped build one of the most influential cultural hubs of the 1990s, long before East London became a global creative destination. Its community brought together street artists, fashion designers, filmmakers and social disruptors alongside music pioneers like Goldie, James Lavelle, Gilles Peterson and Andrew Weatherall (RIP), and art rebels like Tracey Emin, Alex McQueen, Damien Hirst and Banksy.

Through his labels Nuphonic and Tirk, he championed groundbreaking artists and emerging scenes. With Lovebox Festival, he pioneered London’s urban festival landscape with Tom Findlay and Andy Cato of Groove Armada. The House of St Barnabas, launched with Jarvis Cocker, Neneh Cherry and others, demonstrated how culture and social purpose could coexist. With ONBlackheath he worked with icons like Massive Attack and Grace Jones, and the legendary Harvey Goldsmith.

Long before Kissa music bar culture became a global trend, Sav’s Bridge & Tunnel Club was already there, setting the benchmark for what happened when exceptional sound became the centrepiece of an experience, hosting the likes of Carl Craig, Andrew Weatherall and David Mancuso, the legendary NYC Loft founder. Built around a no-compromise sound system and designed for listening first, it became a blueprint for a movement now gaining momentum worldwide.

As Culture Ambassador, Sav will help connect Armour Home’s brands with artists, venues and creative communities, supporting the company’s vision of establishing Goldring, QED and Q Acoustics as brands that belong as naturally in listening bars, record shops and creative spaces as they do in hi-fi stores.

Sav Remzi said:

Whether it’s an intimate bar, a festival in a field, a garden party or a major venue, the principle is always the same: put great sound at the heart of the experience and let people connect around it. The team at Armour Home understands that high-performance audio isn’t an end in itself, it’s what brings the music to life. I’m looking forward to connecting these iconic brands with the artists, spaces, and communities that are making waves where it counts.”

Charlie Henderson, Managing Director of Armour Home, added:

“It’s great to be collaborating with Sav again. He’s a legend. Sav has an extraordinary ability to bring together the right people, the right ideas and always with real taste and style. As we position Goldring, QED and Q Acoustics at the heart of listening and music culture, there couldn’t be a better person to have with us for the ride.”

For Armour Home, this isn’t about celebrity endorsements or marketing campaigns. It’s about collaborating with one of music culture’s great connectors and building something that is authentic.

After all, when someone has spent thirty years creating the places, platforms and environments where culture happens, it’s worth listening to what they have to say.
